The Infiniti Q50, successor to the hugely popular G-Sedan, has seen its fan base grow exponentially over the years and for reasons more than one. Its striking exterior, luxurious interior, and exhilarating drive have all played a vital role in positioning it as a riveting performance sedan. The Red Sport 400, however, elevates the Q50 to an all-new level, a level that is only attainable by some.

Design
Building on the stunning Q50 Sport variant, the Red Sport 400 benefits from 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels completed in a bullet grey hue, unique exhaust tips, and a distinct set of burly bumpers. Its understated exterior is far from garish and doesn’t give too many hints as to the brutal power that resides under its sculpted hood; sophistication is how it chooses to play its game.
Power
The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that powers the Red Sport 400, churns out a breathtaking (and predictable) 400 horsepower at 6,400 RPM and a tarmac rippling 475 Nm of torque from as low as 1,600 RPM. Mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission, the Red Sport 400 hits the 100 km/h mark in 5.1 seconds - a time that is nearly comparable with performance offerings such as the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG.

Steering
Paying close attention to the chassis of the Q50 Red Sport 400, handling characteristics are in line with what one would expect from a 1,746 kg performance sedan. With two steering systems (Standard and Direct Adaptive Steering), the sheer amount of feedback delivered is a welcome change and inspires confidence when driven enthusiastically.
Targeted towards those who possess a burning desire for performance, the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 is a fine offering and one that is a worthy rival to the likes of the Jaguar XF-S.
