Quick Review

Hyundai’s Veracruz sits well above Hyundai’s other SUV, the Santa Fe. Whilst its exterior may be relatively plain and unexciting– the interior is of far higher quality. The Veracruz is very competitively priced.

The 2013 versions are identical to the 2011 editions, with no updates or advancements. Both the GLS and Limited specifications feature a 3.8 liter V6 Lambda engine capable of producing 260 horsepower (6000rpm) and 348 Nm of torque (4500rpm). The Veracruz is not a class leader in terms of performance. The fuel consumption is around 8.93 Km/L. The plus point is the impressively smooth ride.

The Kia Sorrento gives tough competition to the Veracruz in pricing, but is smaller and has fewer features than the Veracruz. Another worthy competitor is the Mazda CX-9, which sits above the Veracruz in terms of price but could be well worth the extra investment. The CX-9 is one of the best drives in the crossover range and is well equipped inside.

The Veracruz is made for someone who requires a solid and dependable SUV for the family. The SUV has a high safety rating as well making it even more suited for families. The price is firmly in the “affordable” category and you will still receive plenty of features as standard relative to competitors.
