The Bentley Mulsanne is a vehicle that exudes grandeur and one that denotes the brand’s motorsport heritage rather well. Named after the Mulsanne Corner of the Le Mans racing circuit, the Mulsanne is the embodiment of perfection and possesses the ability warp one’s perception of a luxury automobile.

Key Features:
Engine 6.75L Twin-Turbo / V8
Transmission 8-speed Automatic
Power 530 Hp / 1100 Nm
Top Speed 305 km/h
Price AED 1,300,000 As Tested

Exterior

Stunning from virtually every angle, the Mulsanne’s exterior is a product of 125 man-hours in which it is protected, primed, painted, hand-sanded, lacquered, and polished. Donning an aura of regality, the Mulsanne sports soft creases along its bodywork that pay homage to the Arnage and highlight the striking 21-inch Mulliner wheels.

Competing with both the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Phantom, the Mulsanne’s exquisite outer shell is bedecked with dashes of chrome and emanates enough presence to grasp the attention of even the most aloof. Truly admirable, the Mulsanne is arguably the most alluring vehicle in the British marque’s line-up.

Interior

The finest of woods and the supplest of leathers adorn the cabin of the Bentley Mulsanne. Its extravagance, is accentuated with a ring of polished Burr walnut wood that envelopes the cabin and glass-finished buttons that make it look as impeccable as it feels.

Catered to the well-heeled enthusiasts, the Mulsanne is as much a car to be driven as it is to be chauffeured in. Oozing with opulence, the Mulsanne’s interiors arouse and invoke the most pleasurable of sensory experiences.

Safety & Features

Fitted with the best of the best, the Mulsanne redefines what is possible in a motorcar in several different ways. The Naim audio system for instance, is far from ordinary, pumping out 2,200 Watts through 20 speakers and offering an aural event that is best experienced rather than described. With TV screens, wireless headphones, tablet docking stations and massage seats, it is the Mulsanne’s addiction to technology that helps it stay ahead of its rivals.

Drive

The glamorous styling of the Bentley Mulsanne reveals a length of 5,575mm – a figure that makes it a whopping 725m longer than the sizeable Range Rover Sport. Needless to say, the Mulsanne isn’t a car to navigate underground car parks, but placed prominently outside the most palatial of homes.

Bentley Logo

Powered by a 6.75-liter Twin-Turbo V8 that churns out 530 horsepower and a tarmac rippling 1,100 Nm of torque, the Brit although tips scales at 3.2 tons, hits the 100 km/h mark in 4.9 seconds and bears a staggering top speed of 305 km/h.

Bentley Mulsanne Side

A gentle nudge of the accelerator pedal is all that’s needed to send the Mulsanne charging into the horizon. Rotate the chrome laden drive selector knob into Sports mode and the computers delay shifts, facilitating in some gentlemanly hooning.

Bentley Wheels

Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the Mulsanne’s refinement isn’t to be confused with dullness. Redlining at 4,500 RPM and fitted with 400mm brake discs up front and 370mm at the rear, the Mulsanne is an endorphin releaser and packs in the peppiness that its rivals seem to have traded for sophistication.

Verdict

Being one of the finest automobiles on sale today, the Bentley Mulsanne possesses an inexplicable advantage over its rivals: the power to make any and every other vehicle feel inferior. At a time when nearly everything is built by machines, the Bentley Mulsanne is a reminder that the human hand can produce some genuinely magnificent things too. And for that, its AED 1,300,000 price tag is well justified.
