BMW Prepares To Reveal 2021 M5 CS Next Month
After several spy shots of the new M5 CS surfaced online, the time has come for BMW to officially reveal its highly-anticipated performance sedan. In teaser photos that have been shared on the German automaker’s official channels, BMW M CEO Markus Flasch is seen lifting the covers to give viewers a teaser ahead of the reveal next month.
Based on the M5 Competition, the new M5 CS features a unique grille with a matte golden bronze surround. The CS also features yellow headlights inspired by the brand’s motorsports pedigree and forged aluminum wheels that hide carbon-ceramic brakes and red calipers behind them. Although little is confirmed about the interior, the M5 CS is believed to have carbon fiber bucket seats from the M3 and M4, and to be a true four-seater – bringing together performance and luxury.
When it comes to the most important numbers of all, the M5 CS is expected to churn out 626 horsepower, which is a slight bump over the M5 Competition that puts out 616 horsepower from its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8. Where the M5 CS truly shines, however, is in the weight department as it has dropped a whopping 70kgs over the M5 Competition, making it far more agile.
With more power and less weight, we can’t wait to find out just how fast the BMW M5 CS truly is, as theM5 Competition is already as impressive as they get, with a top speed of 305 km/h and a 0-100km/h time of just 3.3-seconds.
