Bringing in my birthday with crossing something off my bucket list was the perfect way to begin being 26! Our good friends at Jeep sure know how to give someone an adrenaline rush and decided to take us to experience the world’s longest zipline located at Jabal Jais - a mountain located in Ras Al Khaimah that happens to be the highest peak in the UAE.
The thrilling experience began with a meet up in Al Quoz and it was great to see that Jeep had chosen just three lucky individuals to try out the zipline along with them.
The drive from our meet up point in Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah was about an hour and a half. I got to drive the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the top of the line in the Wrangler fleet. The car instantly made me feel at home with its comfortable interiors and easy to use Uconnect system that had Apple CarPlay, which was extremely convenient. Loaded up on fuel, snacks and juice, we began the fun drive towards Jabal Jais.
Testing out the 3.6-liter V6, it proved to be a fun one, especially since I was driving the 3-door model. It offered a smooth yet sporty feel on the roads and was effortless off-road. Jabal Jais has some pretty sharp corners driving uphill and the Jeep took the corners on way better than I expected it to. The climb up to the top didn’t require me to push the car much, it was quite easy to drive on the steep roads leading to the top.
At the top, we were welcomed by the friendly ToroVerde Team. ToroVerde is the largest aerial adventure park in the world, with a new base now in UAE offering thrill seeking and adrenalin filled experiences. I jumped into my zipline safety outfit that included a bunch of straps and buckles, instantly making me weigh 10kgs heavier. The cherry on top of my awesome gear was my helmet with a mounted GoPro that made me look like a unicorn.
We needed to get higher up the mountain post our safety briefing to the zipline station. We were escorted to the station in a Jabal Jais branded Jeep Wrangler Sahara which enhanced the experience as we were climbing on rocky mountain terrain.
With elephants in my tummy (butterflies would be an understatement) as I stood at the top of the zipline, waiting for my turn to board my flight, the Jeep team were so motivating and excited, and tried to make us all feel less nervous.
Finally, getting onto my flight, I cannot put the experience I had in words, because words won’t do justice to the feeling that ziplining gives you. It is hands down an extraordinary experience, it isn’t intimidating or scary, instead it makes you feel powerful and great.
It was the perfect birthday gift and I couldn’t have had my 26th year begin in a better way. Yay Jeep!
