UAE Ministry of Economy Launches Consumer Car Booklet

A new initiative has been taken by the Ministry of Economy. In conjunction with the directives of the Higher Committee for Consumer Protection, the MoE has launched a 26 page booklet in both Arabic and English. This booklet has all the information and recommendation to protect the interests of consumers. It includes consumers’ rights in aspects including:

- Insurance

- Exchange of cars and components

- Mechanisms for reclaiming cars

- Claiming temporary substitute cars

- Unified contracts approved by MoE to be used by all used car dealers in UAE

Moreover, the booklet includes recommendations for new car owners and advice on maintenance. This booklet is mandated by MoE to be kept in all dealer showrooms at a place which is easily accessible to the visiting customers.
