The new BMW 6 offers a coupe, convertible and sedan version. The 6 Series may not look very different to its predecessor but underneath the hood, there have been a number of improvements particularly in fuel and energy efficiency. The new models have aerodynamic enhancing flaps behind the grille, automatic engine stop-start, brake-energy recuperation and
on-demand oil and water pumps.

Both the convertible and the coupe offer a choice of two turbocharged petrol engines or one turbocharged diesel engine. The 640i is powered by a 320bhp 3.0-litre petrol unit with 450 Nm of torque, while the 650i has a 4.3 litre V8 that offers 407bhp.

The 6 Series is a smartly styled car with a roomy interior that belies its trim good looks. The interior has been improved over the previous model, with a fascia that now points toward the driver and more opulent materials. High-tech fans will be impressed with the updated gadgets. The 6 Series handles well in the city, smoothly and easily tackling sudden stops and corners. It really comes into its own on the highway where you can really experience its acceleration and fuel efficiency.

The price tag is higher than for similar cars in its class, but the 6 Series certainly justifies the extra expense with its amazing engineering and lavish styling inside and out. It's definitely a car for the luxury shopper looking for something sporty.
