Quick Review

Under the bonnet and in the driving seat everything is pretty much the same as the 2011 model. It comes equipped with three turbochargers and can manage 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. Inside, the dash still sports the hard drive based navigation system and the top class interior trim. What has changed though is the appearance of the exterior with some changes to the front and rear fascias. Basically this vehicle has just had a bit of a facelift, and as its predecessor wasn’t particularly ugly, the X6 is now an item of true beauty.

If you are looking for comparative vehicles the two that the X6 needs to go head to head with are the Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover Sport. It is fair to say that in terms of capability and specification the BMW X6 comes out on top in almost every aspect of comparison. It has greater horsepower, faster 0-60 times, lower emissions, weighs less and generally drives better than either of its main rivals. It has slightly less litres of space than the Range Rover and has a marginally lower top speed than the Porsche but in the bigger picture it is a better option.

The BMW X6 is a high end SUV and will not suit the average family budget. It is an excellent choice of car and will comfortably seat 4 or 5 passengers. There is a spacious rear with a neat powered tailgate to enable ease of access.

On the road is where the X6 really does itself the most justice. BMW have equipped it with a wealth of features which make the handling on all terrains smooth and responsive. The multi link integral suspension ensures that the ride quality is always superb.
