Quick Review

The 2013 Nissan Maxima adds some comfort and styling features to it's previous generation model, including day time LED running lights, darkened tail lights and some interior upticks like sunroof, navigation etc.

In terms of drive, it has a powerful V6 engine which generates 290 horsepower and 353 Nm torque. This car is more powerful than the all new Toyota Avalon as well as the all new Honda Accord. There is excellent road grip, definitely much better than the Avalon and closely matched to the Accord. Handling and cornering are best in class as well. However, when it comes to off the line acceleration, there is lots of room for improvement. It has a CVT transmission and there are pros and cons of that. Reportedly the CVT will result in improved fuel efficiency, however the CVT drone is not the best sound in the world. In addition, the suspension is stiffer than other models in it's class which might make you feel those bumps even on smooth Middle East roads. Having said that, there are definitely fans of stiffer suspensions as well, particularly for those who like a more sporty feel in their driving.

When it comes to interior features, the Maxima does not have as many interior features as other rivals in it's class, whether it's Japanese rivals like Avalon and Accord or Korean competition like Kia Cadenza. However, the interior overall has good finish and most importantly is quite comfortable, especially the seats and air conditioning.

Overall, it's one of the best flagship sedans in the full size sedan segment in terms of drive performance and reliability. For interiors, it's good but there are other better competitors too.
