Quick Review

The Toyota Prius C is the newest addition to the Prius family tree. Not only is the smallest and most fuel efficient, but it is also the cheapest. The price tag may convince people who have been putting off buying a hybrid to finally purchase and experience one.

In terms of the engine, the Prius C feels ridiculously underpowered. Struggling while traveling uphill and difficulty while overtaking on the highway are things you will get used to. The 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine produces 73 horsepower and 115 Nm and is mated to a continuous variable transmission.

The interior of the Prius C is small yet well designed. Though 2 adults can be seated comfortably in the front, passengers in the backseat will be face a tight squeeze. The two-tone interior along with a colorful blue line running across the dashboard and the doors, gives the interior a sporty touch. Though trunk space is slightly disappointing, it can be improved by folding down the rear seats.

As far as the exterior goes, the Prius C is quite an attractive looking car. The front end and the lines on the doors give the Prius a touch of glamor. Simple features such as turn indicators on the side mirrors are a wonderful feature to find on the car. On the other hand, the design of the taillights aren't very fascinating and make the rear look a lot uglier than it really is.

If however, you are not sold on the concept of owning a hybrid car just yet, you should check out the Suzuki Swift, Kia Picanto and Honda Jazz.
