Quick Review

2012 is Mercedes-Benz GLK Class’s third year in the market and as such the changes for the vehicle are minor cosmetic ones. The main features like the standard 3.5L V6 engine and the general bodywork remains as it was in the previous two incarnations of the vehicle. The main changes are in the dashboard where the media console has been relocated from the center console. The audio unit has been enhanced with striking 5.8 inch color display LED screen. The interior also sports a new leather trim and newly designed switches.

With very similar pricing, fuel economy and engine size, an alternative SUV to consider when looking at the Mercedes GLK 350 is the Audi Q5. The Audi slightly edges the competition on fuel economy and with a larger fuel tank will require less visits for refilling. In straight line speed it is a dead heat between the two vehicles and the handling is also pretty much on par. Another vehicle to compare is the Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring. This SUV has a slightly smaller engine as standard but handles equally well and has very similar interior space.

The price tag for Mercedes GLK Class is just above that of an average family vehicle. The interior space, large boot load and ample seating make it good sized vehicle for family usage. Handling and ride are smooth and quiet in the GLK. It has a very strong and determined feeling and although it is not properly equipped for off-road performance it does handle remarkably well on rough road surfaces.
