Why we split your budget 65 / 20 / 15
Owning a car costs more than the monthly installment. This calculator starts from the total amount you are willing to spend every month — then splits it across finance, fuel, and maintenance so you can shop for cars that realistically fit your life.
A car's real monthly cost is the installment plus fuel plus keeping it on the road. Putting the whole budget into the installment is how people end up with a car they can finance but not run. The split reserves 65% for finance, 20% for fuel and 15% for service and maintenance — a middle ground between the classic 20/4/10 rule (all car costs under 10% of take-home pay) and the way lenders in KSA assess you: total repayments capped as a share of monthly income.
Three ways to size a car budget
20 / 4 / 10
down · years · of take-home pay
The classic rule
Put 20% down, repay within 4 years, and keep every car cost under 10% of take-home pay.
65 / 20 / 15

The YallaMotor split
65% finance, 20% fuel, 15% service — of the monthly car budget you set, whatever your income.
33%
of monthly income
How lenders in KSA check you
All your monthly repayments together must stay under 33% of your monthly income — the debt-burden ceiling.
Not sure what your budget should be? Financial planners suggest keeping all transport costs to 10–15% of your income.
What does a monthly car budget have to cover?
The installment
The finance repayment itself — the share we match cars against, estimated for every car at the same standard terms.Fuel
Depends on your commute and the engine; electric cars have no fuel bill, which is why we match them against a bigger share.Service and maintenance
Scheduled servicing, tyres, and the small repairs that come with age and mileage. Not included
Insurance, registration and tolls sit outside the split — add them on top when you set your budget.
