Your 5-year forecast

Pick the car and set today's value — we project its resale value year by year in KSA.

The forecast is YallaMotor's estimate from a standard depreciation curve and the value you entered — not a valuation. Mileage, condition, service history, demand for the model and rare-car appreciation can change real resale prices.

How to forecast your car's resale value

  1. Enter your car

Make, model, year and version from Deal Drive's car catalogue — the year sets the car's age, the rest powers the market value and the cars for sale.

  2. Set today's value

Type what the car is worth now, or use its market value from our partner Deal Drive in one click.

  3. Read the forecast

Value in 5 years, the total loss and a year-by-year table and chart — with the rate applied each year, so you can see the best moment to sell.

When is the best time to sell?

The forecast shows where the losses are steep and where they flatten. In KSA most owners get the best balance between value kept and years of use by selling in the third to fifth year.

  • Under 2 years

You absorb the first-year drop for the next owner. Sell only if the car no longer fits your needs.
  • 3 to 5 years

The sweet spot: warranty often still runs, the yearly loss has eased to around 11–13%, and demand from used buyers is highest.
  • Over 8 years

Losses flatten to under 6% a year, so keeping the car costs little in value — repairs and running costs decide instead.

What makes a car lose value faster?

  • Age and the first-year cliff

The biggest loss comes in the first year — about 20% — then the rate eases every year. Buying nearly-new skips the cliff; selling at one year takes the whole hit.
  • Mileage

This forecast assumes a typical yearly mileage for the car's age in KSA. Well under that adds to resale value; well over it takes value away — the estimate above prices your own mileage in.
  • Make, model and demand

Japanese brands and popular SUVs hold value best in KSA; niche models, big luxury saloons and cars with costly upkeep lose it fastest. The forecast applies one market-wide curve, so check the listings under it for what your model actually fetches.Check the listings
  • Condition and history

Full agency service history, no accidents, original paint and GCC specs can add 5–10% to what buyers pay — the forecast assumes an average car.Check a fair price

Frequently asked questions

How much does a car depreciate per year in KSA?

A new car loses about 20% of its value in its first year, then 15% to 11% a year through year six, around 10% in years seven and eight, 8% in years nine and ten and about 6% a year after that. Over five years a new car typically loses a little over half its value.

How is the resale value forecast calculated?

With a declining-balance model: each year the car loses a share of its current value, and the share depends on its age that year. The forecast starts from today's value — the figure you enter or the market value — and never projects below 10% of it.

Where does the market value come from?

From our partner Deal Drive's market data for KSA, for the car's make, model, year, version, specs and mileage — the typical mileage for its age until you enter yours. If you know what your car is worth today, type that instead.

Does the forecast include mileage or condition?

No — it is a standard curve for an average car. High mileage, accident history or poor condition lower real prices; low mileage, full service history and GCC specs raise them. Use the cars-for-sale strip to see what similar cars are listed for.

Why does it say low confidence for older cars?

Past 10 years the curve flattens and the spread between cars widens: a sought-after model in good condition can hold its value or even rise, while a tired one can fall faster. Past 20 years a well-kept car may be a classic that appreciates.

When should I sell to lose the least?

The steepest loss is in the first year and the curve eases after that, so the third to fifth year usually balances value kept against years of use. After eight years the yearly loss is small and running costs matter more than depreciation.

Can I link straight to a forecast?

Yes. Add make, model and year to the page address, plus version, km and specs (e.g. gcc-specs) if you know them. The page opens with the car's value today and its forecast already worked out, and the address follows your changes, so you can copy it and share it.
