Quick Overview

Cadillac has been taking bold steps in terms of design and execution, prying to find more youthful and more upmarket clientele than before. To compete in the full size luxury segment, Cadillac has built the 2014 XTS, with its sharp lines, space age design and loaded with technology. It is ready to battle with the best. Its rivals include the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, Lexus GS and the Mercedes E Class.

The 2014 Cadillac XTS is brand new from the ground up, replacing the lacklustre STS version that didn't offer anything spectacular. The XTS has a futuristic design, sharp lines, funky LED lights and is sure to turn some heads on the street. This large luxury sedan is not primarily intended to be dynamic and sporty, rather gentle and relaxed with a very plush ride. It is one of the very few cars on the market to have an all wheel drive layout, though it might be slightly unnecessary. It will provide more than adequate handling but it won't be considered a sports sedan. Available in three trim levels, all of which feature Brembo Brakes and magnetic ride control which alters the car's dynamics. It is powered by either a 3.6 litre V6 with 305 HP or a 3.6 Litre twin turbo V6 with 410 HP in the V Sport trim. The latter will propel the big Cadillac from 0-100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. However the base engine will provide more than enough power to satisfy everyday needs.

The interior is where the XTS really shines; a minimalist futuristic design that will definitely impress people. For starters, almost all the controls are touch sensitive. Leather adorns the cabin and the materials used really give it a premium feel. Standard equipment is generous with base models equipped with a Bose sound system, parking assist, power seats, and Cadillac CUE infotainment system that is slightly tricky to use sometimes.
