Quick Review

The 2012 Ford Mondeo is a mere update on the previous model and has upped it's game in a number of ways. New additions for the 2012 model include revised interior and exterior styling and an improved driving experience.

There are two engines variants available, a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine capable of producing 146 horsepower and 185 Nm and a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine capable of producing 125 horsepower and 160 Nm. The 2.0 liter engine is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission whereas the 2.3 liter engine is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission.

In terms of the interior, it comprises of high quality materials and is a very spacious place to be. The Mondeo retains the brilliant steering wheel which is not cluttered with too many unnecessary buttons. The information screen placed between the gauges is also very helpful and easy to use. The only downside to an otherwise brilliant interior is the unappealing false wood used in the interior to add a touch of luxury.

As for the exterior, the wrap around headlights and new rear LED lights make the car look a lot better. Although the Mondeo isn't a flashy car to drive around town, it looks simple and down to earth. If however the Mondeo isn't to your liking, be sure to check out the Mazda 6, Chevrolet Malibu and Hyundai Sonata. If you are in no hurry to purchase a car, we suggest waiting for the 2013 Mondeo since it is an absolute stunner!
