Quick Overview

It's big. It's comfortable. It's safety conscious and has a refined feel.  The 2012 Ford Taurus hasn't changed, but then why should you fix something that isn't broken?

The way technology is used in this car is the way of the future: it's a family vehicle with safety features that safeguard those closest to you from the day you drive them home (the US federal government gave it a crash rating of 4/5 stars) right up to their teens (the optional MyKey system gives you the control to restrict speed limit and audio volume so your new drivers will be focused and safe no matter where you happen to be). There's also collision warning system and Ford combats the limited vision caused by the style of the Taurus with a blind-spot system that is integrated into the side mirrors.

Harnessing 288 horse power with its 3.5 litre V6 engine, the Taurus is a quick mover. That being said, it's a smooth drive and responds surprisingly well - especially when you consider that it uses a completely electronic steering system. But at the end of the day, at its heart the Taurus is still a family sized sedan competing against cars such as the Chevrolet Caprice (great if the Taurus is out of your budget) and the Chrysler 300 (which is more upfront but has better fuel economy). The Taurus is a solid, dependable car with a comprehensive set of optional add-ons, catering for families watching their wallets to those with a bigger purse looking for a safe family vehicle with a luxurious feel.
