Quick Review

The Infiniti M is a high-end sedan from Nissan's Infiniti luxury section. The 2012 Infiniti M aspires to strike a balance between a luxury car and a high-end sports sedan. This is a bold move on the manufacturer's part, as luxury car fans often have very different, and even conflicting, expectations to those in the market for a sports sedan. The Infiniti M arguably pulls it off, however. It's the most performance-oriented car in its segment, but doesn't stint on luxury.

By combining a lush, opulent interior with meaty, powerful engines and cutting edge handling, it's able to supply the kind of plushness you'd expect in a BWM sedan while still giving sporty models like the Porsche Panamera and Mercedes-Benz E-Class a run for their money. The price tag is less staggering than you'd expect -- although in the splurge-happy luxury market, that may not be a priority. Those who want to show off their financial muscle can opt for the range-topping M56 and add some of the high-status options on offer.

With its stiff, springy suspension (especially in the Sport package), the Infiniti M may play rather better with those looking for something sporty than those looking for a more cushioned ride, but it's still a comfortable drive. The handling is very smart, keenly responsive, making this large car feel a lot smaller than it really is.
