Quick Review

The Nissan Murano, a rather stylish crossover that is ideal for doing runs within the city. The 2012 model receives minimalistic upgrades from the previous model. One of the new features includes a 7 inch monochrome screen on the entry level model.

In terms of the engine, the Murano is equipped with a 3.5 liter 6 cylinder engine that is capable of producing 256 horsepower and 334 Nm of torque. With an impressive time of 8 seconds to reach 100 km/h from standstill, it is clear the engine isn't a weak one.

As for the interior, the quality of materials used and the build quality is brilliant. Features such as the rear seat entertainment system and iPod connectivity are great and easy to operate. On the down side, if you use your vehicle to transport more cargo than people, the Murano is a slight let down in the trunk space department.

From the exterior, it is fair to say that the design isn't to everybody's liking. Though the sides and the rear are bearable, the front end looks terrible. The wide grille, small headlights and unappealing front end are a major disappointment and definitely a reason for consumers to opt for other crossovers.

All in all though, the Murano is a decent family car that will transport your family safely and comfortably from point A to point B. The interiors are great and the engine packs a lot of power. Drawbacks include the unappealing front end of the vehicle and the lack of cargo space.

Competitors that you should have a look at include the Ford Edge, Subaru Tribeca and the Volvo XC90.
