Quick Review

The Hyundai Genesis is a luxury car introduced by the Korean manufacturer in 2007. The main change for the 2013 model over the previous versions is the engine, with direct injection being present in the V6 model. This upgrade increases the overall power, reduces the CO2 emission rates and reduces fuel consumption. In the case of the 3.8L V6, power has increased with 43 HP comparing to the previous generation.

Another novelty of the 2013 Hyundai Genesis is the new gearbox, which replaces the ZF 6 speed old one. The in-house 8 speed automatic transmission is exclusively developed by Hyundai and visibly improves the handling.

When compared to its rivals in the luxury segment, including the 2011 Mercedes Benz, and Lexus ISF, the Hyundai has certain advantages. One of the most important ones is the price, as you can drive one at a relative low price, compared to a six-cylinder Japanese or German rival.

The Hyundai Genesis is a good choice for those who love luxury in a car and are not interested in a sports one. The driving experience is good both in the city and on the highway and the only noticeable downside of preferring a 2013 Hyundai Genesis over the competition is the lack of glamour when it comes to the interior.
