On a visit to LEVC factory the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and the Mayor of the West Midlands Andy Street were hosted by LEVC.

The London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) has welcomed Sadiq Khan and Andy Street at its Coventry factory as the plans to increase the number of EV charge points was outlined by the Mayor of London as part of his 2030 Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Strategy.

 Since 2018 LEVC has sold more than 4,300 of its TX electric Taxi in the capital, giving it a great role in increasing the number of EVs on London’s streets, and to add more to these numbers there’s also the new VN5, an electric, green and cost-effective light van. Helping the city achieving a zero carbon London by 2030 as these eco-friendly and zero emission EVs are going to highly improve air quality and decarbonizing the transport network.

 The TX taxi is designed to be practical and user-friendly like the original 21^st enhanced London taxi, with spacious space for six passengers, wheelchair access and smart eCity technology, the drive range for this electric vehicle is 63 miles of zero-emission pure electric combined with a total of 316 miles electrical driven range which made possible by the on-board range-extender.

 In 2019, the VN5 was launched – LEVC new electric van – which has a lot of similarities with the TX model, such as a lightweight aluminum body and its smart eCity technology. Fully Designed with high electrical and economical capabilities, the VN5 offers a pure electrical drive range of about 60 miles, also combines 304 miles with its range-extender to suit all kind of driving distance a driver’s need.

 Both vehicles are built at LEVC’s state-of-the-art factory in Ansty, Coventry where more than £500m has been invested by parent company GEELY since 2014.
