Morris Garages, easier to be called MG is one of those British brands which have managed to build a strong footing in the Middle Eastern markets. Their cars are known for their powerful engines, in your face designs and an exhaustive feature list which makes them so tempting specially when we realise that there’s a highly aggressive price to back them up with. More than anything else, these play a significant role in hiding the brand’s actual roots. As the brand shows with refulgence, its focus on the youth and tailoring their cars to meet their requirements, the company has released a new logo which will be present in every car from now. This is also to mark a fresh start in this new direction and enhance its prominence among the first timers and youth.

Having become a brand attested by people with reliability, vehement after-sales support and perceived as a brand which is here to stay as its dealer network keeps expanding, consumers have taken to MG cars rather well over the past 5 years. Its motto, “Do More” emphasizes its commitment to the Middle East precincts and being on a product launch spree, it would perfectly testify that their products are something, rivals should watch out for.

Tapping varied segments at different price points, the brand currently offers a wide gamut of products from hatchbacks and sedans to SUVs. The new logo speaks with conviction, the brand’s objective of advancing towards a tomorrow where its products will take environmental resource depletion into consideration and ply on the roads in a sustainable demeanour. The new logo has been conceived keeping its vast and glorious British heritage at the centre while giving paramount significance to a design that will bode down well with the young generation. This will also cajole them towards purchasing MG products and keep upgrading to the bigger and better ones over the years.

It is a testament to the phrase we are accustomed to using for German cars, “minimalistic elegance.” The new octagonal logo is simple and according to the brand, harnesses the sharp, neat and strong character of the brand. This design also ensures it is anything but hackneyed.

Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor Middle East, commented: “Across the company, we are very much focused on the future, and being a major contributor in sustainable mobility solutions. Our customers want the best value, most advanced cars, and this is what we aim to deliver. At the same time, and as we near our 100th anniversary, we recognise that this approach must be reflected in how we presents ourselves to our customers, and so the new logo will help to provide a stronger, more defined image for MG in the region.”

Its octagonal shape and the brand name embedded in it will make it identified nothing but Morris Garages brand. Currently, it offers 9 unique cars spanning the compact SUV, full-sized SUV, sedan, fastback and EV segments. While the former two are common segments, the fastback is one segment our region has dearth of taste for and it would be fascinating to see how the Middle East markets take up to this unique design and sporty credentials of the car. The models include the compact SUV-HS, seven-seater SUV-RX8 and its stylish Black Edition, the fastback-GT, the subtle-RX5, for the intrepid-ZST, a sportback-MG 6, the conventional sedan-MG 5 and finally a car providing stepping stone towards the future-ZS EV.

With such a vivid array of cars and the brand’s focus of launching its best and unique products, MG is likely to expand its market share in the region in a stint.
