The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team are making a series of videos under the name “Access All Areas” where they give a lot of useful information to viewers.

In this video, it tells everything there is to know about carbon fiber compounds, explaining that they are not all created equal, and go on explaining that there are different types of the lightweight material.

Barry James, the AMG Petronas team's head of composites, said: "There's numerous different carbon fibers and there's numerous different resin systems."
